Beekeeping Experience    £95

Experience the excitement of opening a hive, during the active beekeeping season.

 

What’s included:

Hive inspection – duration 1-2 hrs. Weather & bee dependent.

We will carry out a standard inspection to check on the health of the colony, stores, space and evidence of the queen.

Handling frames of bees and carrying out any hive manipulations required as a result of the inspection eg: queen marking, adding queen excluders or supers.   

Perhaps even some frame making.   There is always lots to do!  Don’t worry about the terminology, I’ll explain everything. 

Use of protective beesuit.

Use of hive tools & smoker

£95 per person. Up to 6 people per session, but usually only 2 or 3. 

 

Honey Tasting Experience    £55 

with a Honey Connoisseur  trained by experts in Bologna, Italy

An adventure into the tastes, textures and aromas of honeys from around the world.    Let me help you explore how and why honey flavours differ, how honey is made and harvested, what makes a good honey and the do’s and don’ts of the honey world.   Enjoy a variety of cheeses paired with unique and unusual honeys, and then explore your own combinations.   And because we are in a vineyard, there is wine too!

This experience will take place at New Lodge Vineyard, Earls Barton, Northampton, on dates to be agreed between April and September.

Come along to a hands on workshop creating your own formulation for the perfect lip balm and leave with tins, jars or tubes for you to give away to friends, or keep all to yourself.    The combination of organic oils, butters, essential oils, natural flavourings and colourings as well as packaging, will ensure that no two signature balms are the same.
